Mutual Aid/Non Profit effort to support Black Lives by funding Black Birth + Black Wellness.

BLACK LIVES BEGIN WITH BLACK BIRTH

Black birthing people need doulas and wellness access as a fierce act of reclaiming their birthright of health and survival. Black birthing people are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white birthing people. Most pregnancy-related deaths are preventable and a direct reflection of racism in the health care system. Join the revolution and help redistribute wealth to create access for BIPOC doulas, wellness providers and families to change the landscape of birth.

In 2022, BBLM is collecting money for Black Midwives and Black Doulas (working in the continental US) specifically. All proceeds from merchandise and donations will go directly to Black Midwives, Black Midwives in training and Black Doulas. Learn more about donations to Black Midwives (in training) below.

GRASSROOTS MUTUAL AID SAVES LIVES

The secret to saving Black birthing lives and nurturing Black lives as well as families is to support Black Birth holistically. Supporting Black birth looks like aiding and supporting Black doulas, Black midwives and Black birth workers in their service, education and self care. Donating to the Birth Wild Awake fund supports BIPOC birth workers, wellness providers and birthing people to help bridge the financial gap that aids in the systemic discrimination and death to birthing people of color. With these efforts these funds help provide scholarships as well as provide wellness, care and birth support while ensuring that doulas and providers can be paid while the systemically marginalized communities continue to be served.

This fund is supported by Scout of Wild Awake Wellness - Doula, mentor and student midwife.
